The Placement Process
This is a general overview
of the steps of the placement process. Later chapters will get
into more detail as to how to implement the process.
Contact with Employers:
There will be several ways
in which to contact employers. Marketing a top-notch candidate
over the phone will be the most used and recommended method. Other
forms of contact will be through the Internet, joining associations,
reading the ads in newspapers. trade publications, specialty directories
and then marketing a highly qualified candidate.
Contact with Job Seekers:
While there
are many ways of contacting job seekers, the most used technique
by successful Recruiters is that of target or focused recruiting.
We will also cover this method in a future chapter. Other ways
to contact job seekers or career changers is over the Internet,
advertising, job fairs, open house in your location, referrals,
word of mouth, associations, user groups and many more. We will
be talking shortly about an MPC (Most Placeable Candidate) and
details will be given about what constitutes an MPC in the Marketing
chapter.
